If you are engaged in ultrasound research you should be considering Cephasonics.  We’ve been providing technology solutions for ultrasound research for over 10 years.  Our hardware and software products are designed to provide you with the most flexible platform designed for directly accessing raw channel, fully beamformed, post processed and scan converted image data in real time.   Select systems to support high-channel count requirements from 64 - 4096 channels as well as 3:1 muxing.

You'll have access to our comprehensive open software development environment, CuSDK, that gives you programmatic API access to all TX and RX functions as well as features to dynamically load and manage algorithms.  Additionaly, you'll get the flexibility to program the operations of the system using in C++, Python, Cuda, Tensor-Flow and MatlabTM.

Plus, we understand the world of research.  We’ve actively collaborated with various university programs on NSF-funded research and development projects for AI, quantifiable ultrasound and new computational platforms for ultra-fast full-frame-forming systems.

Hardware Platforms

Our hardware and software platforms are designed specifically for research and development of new approaches and applications of ultrasound in clinical settings with a special emphasis on the ability to generate quantitative results in real time that can locate, identify and measure objects within the body.

Each of our ultrasound systems are scalable from 64-4096 channel and 64-256 channels systems also support 3:1 muxing. Each of our systems provide ultrasound-specific front-end transmit and receive analog, digital, and power circuitry including Cephasonics award-winning AutoFocusTM beamforming technology. We provide high-resolution hardware beamforming, very high-speed data transfer, B-mode and direct (RF) data capture and a superior analog front end as well as support for all standard medical imaging modes.

Open Software Development

The Cephasonics Ultrasound Software Development Kit (CuSDKTM) provides access to and management of Cephasonics ultrasound hardware platforms. Designed with research in mind, it offers unequaled flexibility in system control and programming overall aspects of the system.

Our ultrasound software offers core and advanced interfaces that allow you to program Cephasonics hardware platforms with high-level constructs and/or powerful low-level primitives. This provides the unique ability to directly capture and record RF channel, fully beamformed, post-processed, and scan-converted image data.

You have access to a broad range of APIs, tools, utilities, scripts and example programs that facilitate the definition, configuration, scheduling, and processing of ultrasound transmission/reception. Use C++, Python and Tensor-Flow as well as MatLabTM to control operation of the system and for applications development.

Additionally, our systems can support elastography, SUPRA real-time 3D ultrasound platform and the IMFusion 3D and 4D imaging tools.

Accessories For Research

Probes - Providing a wide range of probes for research and development including single crystal, PZT 64-256 element probes  Click her to see more about our probes.

Probe adapters - Have probes from other vendors you need to use in your research.  We offer customizable connector kits as well as adapters from Probe Hunter that allows you to attach probes from other ultrasound companies like Verasonics, GE, Siemens and BK.

System Controllers / Servers - Preconfigured GPU-based systems designed to control and program Cephasonics ultrasound engines.

Encoder Interface -  Encoder Interface Module allows you to connect a Cicada ultrasound system to encoders for robotic devices, so data from the encoders can be read by the Cicada ultrasound system to determine position, count, speed, or direction of a probe movement.

Collaborative Research & Engineering

With our custom engineering group, we can work directly with you on government funded joint research projects.  In addition to providing hardware and software, we can participate in design of development of  special system configurations, customized probes, GPU-powered servers as well as machine learning algorithms and neural networks.

With Cephasonics' experience in custom ultrasound system design and development as well as directly participating in SBIR funded projects, we can bring additional resources to your research projects to help enhance your ability to create successful research proposals.

Consider directly working with Cephasonics for DOD/NSF/NIH funded research projects.
